Fadeless display assortments: choosing a workable mix
A named display assortment still needs a practical contents check. Identify the boards and colours required, inspect current product information and allocate materials before cutting. A coordinated mix is useful when it supports the work and leaves reusable stock for later displays.
Match the assortment to a board schedule
Record which displays will be refreshed, their dimensions and the expected duration of use. Compare this list with the actual Fadeless assortment contents. Check whether plain colours, patterned materials or borders are included and how each would be used. Do not assume that a range name guarantees a particular pack mix, size or performance in every classroom.
Plan a shared art exhibition
Ask classes to contribute work exploring one technique, such as printmaking. Choose a common title treatment and enough plain backing to let different images remain distinct. Pupils can compare sample colour arrangements and explain which makes light and dark marks easiest to see. Avoid forcing every piece onto the same coloured mount if that reduces the visibility of the work.
Allocate before installation
Write the intended board or room on each reserved material label. Keep a small flexible remainder for replacement captions or late contributions. Check the layout using real sample work, including larger handwriting and alternative formats. A coordinated exhibition should accommodate the pupils' contributions rather than require them all to produce an identical shape or quantity of text.
Review what the mix actually delivered
After the exhibition, record the usable backing, borders and offcuts returned to stock. Retain supplier labels and assess the condition of installed materials before reuse. Compare the consumption with the original allocation, noting colours that were scarce or unnecessary. Use that record to decide between another assortment and a targeted order of individual materials, rather than assuming the same bundle will suit the next event.
